About The Church

First Baptist Church of California City began as a mission church started by the First Baptist Church of North Edwards on December 8th, 1963. It was simply called the 'The California City Mission' and the first meetings were held in the Community Building. A few years later on June 19, 1966 the Mission broke ground on a new building locate at Lupine Loop Drive where the Church is now located. On July 21st, 1969 the members voted to incorporate into what is now known as the 'First Baptist Church of California City'.

The Church is an active member of the High Desert Baptist Association and the California Southern Baptist Convention and participates in The Cooperative Program.

The current pastor is Pastor Bob Lewis. The Church has an active membership of about 100 parishioners and meets Sunday morning for Sunday school, praise and worship songs followed by a message from the Pastor. Prayer meeting is held on Wednesday night. Events and times can be found on the Calendar.
