Hello and welcome to First Baptist
Church. I just wanted
to share some information about my family and background with you. I accepted
Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 11 years old in a small Missionary
Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In May of 1980, I married
my wife, Ruth. We have four wonderful children, two boys and
two girls, as well as 13 grandchildren. All of our children know Jesus
Christ as Lord and are faithfully serving in churches in their communities.
They are also involved in overseas missions in India and Rwanda with E3
Partners.
How
did it all begin?
Several years later, we moved to the High Desert community of
Hesperia, California and became members at First Baptist Church. We
quickly became involved in many ministries within the church. In
August of 1984, I was licensed to preach the Gospel. During that
time I became the Interim Pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in
Victorville, CA. When I returned back to Hesperia in 1986, I was
asked to serve as a Deacon in the fellowship. Since that time, I
have attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Brea,
California, and Liberty University’s Distance Learning Program based
in Lynchburg, Virginia. Over the years I have been Moderator of HDBA
and served in many positions, such as pulpit supply for several
churches in the High Desert Baptist Association, and as a church
planter for the California Southern Baptist Convention. In addition,
I have served as interim pastor and pastor in other
churches within HDBA.
